I like big books and I cannot lie.
This week’s Top 3 Thursday is all about the loooong books we read. To be honest, I have not read a lot of really long books – most of them are between 250-500 pages – so there are not many that I can choose from in terms of books I LOVED. However, if we ignore the collections of short stories, the following three books are the longest ones I have read.
Gemina (Illuminae Files)
by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
At a casual 672 pages, this one was an ‘OHMYGOSH’ on-the-edge-of-my-seat reading experience. The number of pages here does not give any indication of how long this book takes to read because you fly through pages.
Breaking Dawn (Twilight Saga)
by Stephanie Myer
A respectable 754 pages that were devoured by a twelve-year-old me. I have always enjoyed paranormal fiction (ghosts are my favourite), but the Twilight Saga was my introduction to vampires and reading books that were over 400 pages.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
by J.K. Rowling
This Harry Potter book is my longest read coming in at exactly 800 pages (at least in my copy). These pages are made up of 257,045 words which is approximately 23.7% of the entire HP series!
