2019 Goals – Mid-Year Check-In

We are halfway through the year so we are revisiting my 2019 goals! Have I made much progress since my last check-in? Read on to find out!

  • Read 50 books.
I have read 10 more books since my last check-in bringing my total to 20. I would have liked to be at 25 reads by now, but I have time catch up.
  • Write a book!
My WIP is currently at 12,000, so there has been some progress here. To be honest, there has not been much progress in the past month, but I am hoping that the July Camp NaNoWriMo will up the word count. Please send me words of motivation and coffee!
  • Keep up with my blog.
I think I am doing okay, but some weeks are better than others. For example, this week is blog-post-full, but last week was lacking. I hope to improve on this but we will see…
  • Not go crazy on merch.
I am still going strong! There have been, wait for it, NO MERCH PURCHASES in the last few months! I did purchase one book box that contained some merchy items, but I bought it for the books!
  • Save money.
After the car incident, I have not been able to save too much. Maybe something will change, but at least I get to drive my pretty car every day.
  • Explore somewhere new.
Getting there. Hopefully. Maybe by the end of the year I will have something fun to report.
  • Finish my University degree!
ONE MORE UNIT! I cannot wait for this last unit for two reasons; it is about gaming and it is my last unit!
  • Enjoy more “me time”.
I have been crushing this goal for the past few weeks. There has been a lot of reading time recently, I have joined a knitting-for-charity club and I have also taken time out to re-watch my favourite BBC classic mini-series.
  • Improve my health.
Mental health – tick! I have been listening to Jay Shetty and trying not to let other people and things I cannot control. It is not always that simple and I have had a few flat days, but for the most part, I am doing good.
As for the other health departments, winter hit me like a truck full of bricks. Yay for scratchy throats and runny noses.
  • Be open to opportunities.
I have been open to a few and they have worked out well so far. Let’s see what else this year has in store for me!
  • Be happy.
I am doing fairly well at this for the most part. I know what I enjoy so I have been doing more of it. I know the people that put a smile on my face, so I have been spending more time with them. I also know the things that do not bring me joy but cannot eliminate from my life, so I have been finding ways to manage them and not letting them bring me down.

Six months down, six months to go, and I think I am doing pretty well with my goals at the moment. Fingers crossed it continues improving!

How are your 2019 goals going!
Let me know in the comments!

Keep working towards those 2019 goals bibliophiles!
