I have been so caught up in my own little world that I forgot to do last week’s Top 3 Thursday post! Possibly not the worst thing to happen because the idea of narrowing down my favourite fantasy books to just three is pretty scary.
However, this week I am here, semi organised and ready to share with you my favourite books of 2019 so far. I am taking this as books I have read in 2019, but I am also trying to keep them as recent as possible.
City of Ghosts
by Victoria Schwab
I was destined to love this book. It was released on my birthday, it is about ghosts, it is set in graveyards, castles and secret passageways… It was almost six months before I actually read the book, but I was insanely happy with it and cannot wait for book two in the Cassidy Blake series because it takes place in the Paris Catacombes!
by Abi Elohinstone
This is a middle-grade fantasy with Narnia vibes that only came out recently. Casper Tock accidentally travels through a grandfather clock to Rumblestar where the fate of their world and his are left in his hands with only a girl called Utterly Thankless and her minature dragon, Arlo, to help him navigate this strange land and all its magical creatures. Obviously, this book is everything I love and has become a new favourite on my shelf!
War of Mist
by Helen Scheuerer
This is a very recent read and a very new book given it was only released this week! I was worried going into this because I had enjoyed the seires and the final book can be hit or miss, but I LOVED IT! I could not ask for a better conclusion to the Oremere Chronicles and I am inclined to say it is my favourite of the series!
