Best Bookish Bits

Best Bookish Bits: July 2019

July has been a month of ups and downs. While there were days of very low lows, there were also some pretty amazing highs.

So what were the best bookish bits of July?

Allow me to enlighten you.

PicsArt_07-14-13.21.13.jpgI read five books. One was a picture book, but it is still a book I read so I am counting it.

  • War of Mist by Helen Scheuerer
  • All Through The Year (Picture book) by Jane Godwin
  • Every Love by Jane Doe
  • Moonlocket by Peter Bunzl
  • Buckley’s Unexpected Adventure by Dion Summergreene

With all the books being 4-stars or 5-stars, this month was full of good books. I wish I had managed to squeeze in a couple more books, but I was busy with some other exciting stuff. More on that below!

As for bookish purchases, I did not receive anything this month, but that is because the one order I did make has not been sent yet. I have purchased the first two books in the Order of the Crytal Daggers series by C.S. Johnson. She is an amazing person and I have loved reading this series so, when the opportunity to get signed physical copies of the books arose, I jumped at the opportunity to finally own physical copies!

Now, the news I am most excited about is not about reading or bookish purchases. It is about writing.

But Amy, you do monthly writing updates. Why are you telling us this now?

Because I am too excited and proud to wait. Plus, everyone who looks at my Instagram stories already knows.

As you may know, I took part in the July Camp NaNoWriMo.
My goal was to write for at least thirty minutes a day with the hope of writing about 10k words by the end of the month. If you saw my July writing update, you will already know I passed that, but last night I got the final validated number of words I wrote in July:

24,907 words!

You will see more happy gushing in my August writing update!

So my month was slow in the bookish department, but tell me:
What was your Best Bookish Bit of July?
Let me know in the comment section!

Until next time bibliophiles!
